11/25/12 Update

Hey,
A month until Christmas! I remember as a kid every year for Halloween I would dress up as Santa.
I am doing good. My therapist says that by sometime in December I should only need one crutch.
Tonight I went and served dinner to the Salvation Army. It felt good to serve.

11/11/12 Update

Hey,
Not much has changed since my last post this will probably be short. At therapy now they have cleared me to stand with out my braces on. I got a new Giants World Series Champions sweatshirt on Thursday it is so cool. I will try to post pictures of it later. My parents said that they were going to give it to me for Christmas but they decided that it wouldn't have the same effect if they gave it to me then. In February the high school baseball season starts. I am excited yet nervous about my first time as being an announcer. I am sure I will do great though and it will be a blast.

11/4/12 Update

Hi Everyone,
Sorry that have not posted in a while. Since my last post a lot has changed. I am able to walk with two crutches. The doctors said that I would be walking with one crutch by December at it looks like they were dead on. My therapist also said that our goal was that I would be able to get rid of my wheelchair and walk all the time by the end of November. Today we had Elder Dryer and Elder Walden over for dinner. Elders are the missionaries from our church. If this is Elder Dryer's parents reading he is awesome. All is going well and we are already starting to see the rewards from my surgery.

Update 10/7/12

Hi Friends
   I am sorry I have not updated my blog in a while. I am progressing rapidly. I am now permitted to walk with a walker at my house.This news was awesome since it was so hard for me to do things before. I am enjoying seminary like I never dreamed I would. It has been an answer to my prayers.Everything is going well. I have an appointment with the doctors at Shriners on the ninth of this month. They are going to discuss what is the next in my healing process. The playoffs have started so I am watching them. I would love to see who is cheering for who so, please comment and say who you want to win.

September 18, 2012 Update

Hey guys!
Sorry that I haven't posted in a while. I have been busy with school and things. I had therapy last week and all went well. I can now walk. In my week of absence from school I actually got ahead can you believe that! The Lord is definitely blessing my family and I.

One Last Week!!

I am almost there.I have one more week before I get my casts off! it going to be sad to see these awesome colors (orange & black0 get thrown away. They will not be that missed though. I guarantee you that after I get my casts off I WILL NOT EVER lay on my back again. These 6 weeks have gone fast. I finished my first week of seminary yesterday. Our scriptures are on back order so, we have not had a lesson yet that is a bummer but, I am still enjoying it.

August 25, 2012 Update

Greetings,
This is Chandler again with an update. The first week of school is over. This was easy as expected. I am not looking forward to the rest of the year. Tomorrow I start seminary. I will need to get up at 5:30 in the morning but, it is worth it. Until next time.

August 23, 2012 Update

Hi Guys,
Today marks exactly two weeks until I get my casts off! I am so excited. I have been in school for a couple of days. It is good. Spanish is confusing but, I will get it. I accidentally missed picture day so, I will have to go on make up day. Next week seminary starts. Seminary is a scripture study in the morning at my church. We will see how that goes!

First Day At School

Can you believe it I am updating my blog from school in computer class. i have an awesome omputer teacher. I am almost done with school land I have almost no homework! Well I just wanted to let you guys know how I am doing on my first day in high school.

Back To School

Tomorrow I start school. I am all set I have a new backpack and all the things I need to be a Freshman in High School, I can hardly believe it! I am of course going to spend my Freshman year in my wheelchair so we got an aid for me. His name is Kevin. He is awesome and I can't wait to hang out with him! We saw all my classes on Friday, They were scattered all over campus.

August 15, 2012 Update

Hi,
It's me again! I had my half way appointment with the doctor and he said i was doing great!, I am ahead of the game In fact This appointment also marked a milestone in my healing, as now I can bend my legs three times a day and have a little more mobility. They also changed out my casts so, now instead of green they're awesome orange and black. I start high  school on Monday. Unfortunately, I will not have my casts off in time.I will have an aid at school to help me. Once again thank you for all you do.

Taking A Walk

My grandma and I went I went for a walk today. I look awesome in my shades! My grandparents got my own set of chess. I almost beat my grandpa!

August 5, 2012 Update

Hi Everyone,
I am doing well! Today I was able to go to church for three hours! I am about off of my pain medication. I have decided to shoot a video documentary about my surgery. I am hopeful that I will be able to look back and remember everything went on at this time in my life. It is at the point where everybody is asking to sign my casts. We even brought sharpies church with us:) I love it! Again thank you for your concern.

July 29, 2012 update

Sorry that I have not updated my blog in a while. I am doing well. As far as pain I have steadily stayed at a two, ten being the worst.
At the hospital is was VERY hard to sleep. On the second day, the hospital had what is Christmas in July. Santa came with present and brought his “reindeer". On the third day I was able to get out of bed and go to lunch with my family. Now I am out of the hospital and doing well. I will continue to update you as well as I can. Thank you for your support and prayers.

This is my first post. My name is Chandler and I have a disability called Cerebral Palsy. For my whole life I have tried to be like everyone else. Oh how wish I could dunk that basketball or score that winning run. Every time I've tried I've come up short but, that is okay because I have inspired people along the way. Now something will change that forever, it will make it so that I can both, score, dunk and inspire. I'm going to get a surgery done on my legs that will include lengthening my hamstrings. The others operations will be lengthening my heel cords and re constructing the arches in my feet. This is a major surgery that will prevent me from doing daily activities for six weeks, even then I will have to be very careful. My mom and dad are taking me to six flags before my surgery on the 24th. I have written this blog to keep family members involved and updated. I have also written this blog for someone like me.
